2025 Summer Day Camp Theme Weeks

Week 1: June 2-6 WELCOME WEEK

Help us say “Welcome to Summer,” with a fun-filled week of classic camp activities like fishing, boating, and arts and crafts. Meet your counselors, make new summer friends, and have a blast while learning what camp is all about.

FIELD TRIP: Clarion County YMCA and Oil City YMCA

Week 2: June 9-13 DISNEY DAYS

“Oh Boy!” It’s going to be a fun week! Pals, join us for our first ever Disney week. With Mickey shaped treats, Disney inspired activities, and your favorite sing-a-longs, Disney week will be a big hit!

FIELD TRIP: Skating

Week 3: June 16- 20 TIME TRAVELER

Jump back in time with us and discover the best of the 90s, 80s, and 70s. Create fun tie-dye items and play era appropriate games and challenges. Whatever the year, we know you’ll think it’s cool beans.

FIELD TRIP: Ed Mine and & Museum

Week 4: June 23-27 BUGGIN’ OUT

Are you a fan of roly-polies and all things crawly? Join us for a week full of bugs and exploring nature! We’ll be having fun with bug crafts and dances. We think you’ll bug-out when you find how much fun it will be!

FIELD TRIP: The Movies at Meadville

Week 5: June 30 – July 3 STARS AND STRIPES

Help us celebrate the USA during this patriotic week leading up to our Nation’s birthday. We’ll be doing it right with the red, white, and blue! Games, songs and activities will make you a true American. Don’t worry there will be cake!

FIELD TRIP: NO FIELD TRIP, No Camp on July 4

Week 6: July 7-11 SHARK WEEK

Based on the extremely popular Discovery Channel special! Learn all about the different types of sharks at our very own shark academy while enjoying shark-themed games and treats. Summer Day

FIELD TRIP: Pittsburgh Zoo

Week 7: July 14-18 SUPER HERO ACADEMY

Transform into a superhero for the week! Campers will get to create their own superhero identities, design costumes, and engage in superhero-themed activities such as obstacle courses, team challenges, and heroic missions. Blast into our galaxy and the fun is endless.

FIELD TRIP: Olympic Fun Center (Buying Lunch)

Week 8: July 21-25 JURASSIC JUNGLE

Help us take a big t-rex bite out of summer with our new Jurassic Jungle week! Learn about our favorite types of dinosaurs, what they eat, and just how big they really were. We know you’ll love the games, songs, and activities to make our week dino-licious.

FIELD TRIP: Keystone Safari

Week 9: July 28 – August 1 CAMP CHEF

Our young chefs will learn how to prepare and cook kid-friendly food this week! We concentrate on learning why the body needs food nutrition to stay active and healthy. If you can prepare it, you can eat it! Get ready for a mouth watering week of fun!

FIELD TRIP: Two Mile Cook Out and Swimming

Week 10: August 4 – 8 SPACE EXPLORERS

We will be embarking on an intergalactic journey with a space themed week. Campers will create a mission control center and design spacecrafts, space themed crafts, and interactive science experiments. This week will be out-of-this-world!

FIELD TRIP: Carnegie Science Center & Planetarium (Packed Lunch)

Week 11: August 11 – 15 BRILLIANT BUILDING

Open your mind to a whole new level of building. Join us for a new take on basic building with activities that challenge your mind and creative side. Use your imagination and let’s create something cool together!

FIELD TRIP: Altitude Trampoline Park

Week 12: August 18 -21 CAMP CARNIVAL & HORSE WEEK

Step right up for a week of carnival excitement. From obstacle courses to face painting, potato sack races and carnival games, this week promises non-stop fun and laughter. Horses return to camp this week! Learn about horsemanship and learn to ride! What a great way to end a super fun summer.

FIELD TRIP: NO FIELD TRIP

WEEKLY CAMP ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: zip line, field trips, music and movement, guest speakers, sports, archery, air gun, fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, arts and crafts, hiking, trips to YMCA Farm Camp, games and adventures.

YMCA FARM CAMP EXPERIENCE

Farm Camp is a completely hands-on and interactive farming and agricultural experience brought to you by the Scenic Rivers YMCA. Children who attend YMCA Summer Day Camp will get to discover and learn all about livestock, gardening, harvesting, and sustainable living. Farm Camp is just 3 miles from Camp Coffman in Fertigs, PA.

For those who attend YMCA Summer Day Camp, trips to the farm will be a new daily activity to help add to the fun of traditional summer camp activities like hiking, boating, fishing, archery, arts & crafts. Children will learn about real animals and the responsibilities that go into everyday care. Children will get a first-hand look at where our food comes from and will learn about growing fresh fruit and vegetables.
